Did you know that our campus used to be a sacred burial site for the Tongva people? In fact, they believe that it was the place of creation (their version of the Garden of Eden).   My ethnic geography class made a mini field trip to the corner of the campus on Bellflower and Beach to explore and learn a little about their culture. It was pretty interesting.. No wonder the Natives always come and have random ceremonies in that lot..
